SUMMARY:October Online Food Safety Training (Tier 1 & 2)
DESCRIPTION:Get ready to level up your food safety game with our interactive online training –  Registration is for Tier 1 & 2\, held on separate dates\n\n\nWhether you are new to farm food safety concepts or looking to sell to schools\, senior centers\, or early childhood sites through the New Mexico Grown Approved Supplier Program\, the NMFMA’s Tiered Food Safety Training program will help you prepare. These trainings are based upon the NMFMA’s Minimum Standards and Expected Outcomes (PDF) for qualifying training programs. \nOnline Food Safety Training (Tier 1 and 2)\nBoth levels of Food Safety Training are taught online via Zoom. Classes are held approximately monthly and broken up into two sessions on two different weeks. These trainings meet the course requirement for the New Mexico Grown Approved Supplier Program. \nNOTE: By registering for Tier 1\, you are also committing to registering for Tier 2\, held on the following week. A separate Zoom link will be provided for Tier 2’s session. \n \nWhat You Will Learn:\n\nTier 1 Workshops: Farmers will leave this training with a basic understanding of what food safety Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) look like on a farm\, and prepare to develop a Farm Risk Assessment or Food Safety Plan\, if desired.\nTier 2 Workshops: This workshop walks farmers through completing a Farm Risk Assessment and Food Safety Plan. The plan will be customized to each farmer and their unique farm; it will act as each farm’s operations manual to ensure continuous improvement and implementation of food safety practices.
