"Eat Like a Local" Posters

Encourage the kids and adults in your community to “Eat Like a Local” using photos of local heroes from your community!  These poster templates were created by Cooking with Kids, Inc, a non-profit organization in northern New Mexico. in collaboration with the New Mexico Department of Agriculture.

Here are the versions Cooking with Kids is using in their classrooms and cafeterias throughout Rio Arriba, San Miguel, and Santa Fe Counties. These posters feature local farmers and produce using images captured by local photographer Kate Russell. Looking for photo inspiration? Here’s a link to a Google folder with more of Kate’s great farmer and produce photos!

Your local heroes may be farmers, teachers, chefs, cafeteria staff, athletes—be creative! For example, Cooking with Kids created posters featuring the lowrider community for schools in the Española Valley and Rio Arriba County!
